Greenpeak talks battery free wireless

Greenpeak technology has announced a new ulta-low-power wireless sense and control selection.

Greenpeak uses three wireless technologies to allow its communication devices to operate in a wire and battery free environment.

First an energy harnessing interface allows the communication device to utilise power obtained from sources such as a solar , piezo-electric transducer and electro magnetic sources.
Secondly an ultra-low wireless transceiver and sensor with an efficient power on and off mode will reduce power consumption.

Finally a mesh technology will allow designers to create extended networks, without the need for wired or battery powered nodes. The company also claimed that the mesh technology is self forming and self healing.

Greenpeak is also working on a chip solution that integrates all the current functions of the chip module.
