Strong January performance by CHT

Taiwan-based mobile communications service Chunghwa Telecom this week announced estimated net profits for January totalling NT$4.7 billion (US$148 million). This equates to a net earning per share (EPS) of NT $0.48.
At the end of January the number of subscribers to CHT’s ADSL and FTTx (fibre to the home) reached 4.26 million. 1.22 million of the ADSL subscribers used a bandwidth of over 8Mbps.
Taiwan’s other top operators of mobile communications services, Taiwan Mobile (TWM) and Far Eastone Telecommunications (FET) have also released estimates for their January financial figures.
