HwaCom Systems, a Taiwan-based integrator, together with their hardware partner Asustek Computer, have landed an order of 180,000 set-top boxes (STBs) from Chunghwa Telecom (CHT).
This order follows a contract that HwaCom-Asustek signed with CHT in late January for the supply of 270,000 STBs. The current order is worth an estimated NT$628 million (US$19.9 million), compared with the NT$941 million for the January order.
The new order was secured by HwaCom-Asustek after Foxconn Electronics declined to bid for the contract.
