A new mobile operator will launch its services in Spain by the end of 2008. fonYou is a mobile virtual network operator that combines mobile communications services with the delivery of extensive web-based services.

The start-up mobile operator is planning to offer its independent mobile services in Spain through an agreement with Spanish telecom Telefónica. Following this agreement, fonYou has opened up negotiations with potential Spanish and international investors to finance its launch plans.

fonYou will operate and control its own core network infrastructure, allowing it to develop and introduce services that do not yet exist in the market. It is anticipated that these web-based services will give customers complete control over the set-up, including cancellation, of their services.

From 2009 onwards, fonYou plans to expand into other European markets and into Latin America.
