‘Free’ Orange laptops sold out

Network operator Orange has sold out of ‘free’ laptops in stores across the UK.

The company’s retail director said sales of the subsidised laptops that come with Orange USB mobile broadband dongles have been ‘amazing’.

Orange started selling subsidised laptops in August. The first model it sold was the Asus Eee PC netbook, which came free on Orange’s 24 month Internet Everywhere package.

As well as a free PC, the £25 a month package included a 3GB data allowance and 100 texts.

Orange later started offering Hewlett-Packard laptops alongside its mobile broadband business tariffs.

Now that both models have completely sold out Orange plans to release ‘exciting’ new laptop models by the end of the month.
