Telecoms equipment provider Alcatel-Lucent has appointed Federico Guillen as head of its Iberian regional unit and as vice president of Global Account Telefonica, effective immediately.
Guillen replaces Alfredo Redondo, who held the post since 2006.
Guillen, who joined Alcatel-Lucent in 1989, previously serviced as vice president of sales in vertical markets in Western Europe.
Prior responsibilities include Telmex Global Account leader and Wireline Regional Support Center Europe.
Adolfo Hernandez, president of Alcatel-Lucent EMEA, expressed ‘complete confidence’ in Guillen’s ability.
He added that Guillen will “take Alcatel-Lucent Iberia to the next stage of its development, delivering improved business results, assisting our customers building new High Leverage Networks to take advantage of the new opportunities and deliver an outstanding experience for our customers.”
Earlier this month Alcatel-Lucent announced the appointment of Raoul Ros as president of its South East Europe operations.
The company posted a net loss of 402 million euros for the first quarter of 2009, up from a net loss of 181 million euros for the first quarter of 2008.
